God is Beyond Mind

In deep sleep there is no religion or mantra or worship because all our conceptions of God and prayer are limited to the mind. In deep sleep the mind disappears and so do our ideas of philosophy and religion.

In this discourse Gurumaaji draws our attention towards the hard hitting truth that we are so bound by the mind and its desires that we remain trapped in an endless circle of birth and death. We experience joys and sorrows of the world and even spiritual love for the Master through the mind. But God is beyond the mind and simple crying and pleading for mercy cannot deliver us from birth and death.

Prayer is important and true prayer is one which brings the mind into a concentrated and consolidated state. Such a mind becomes more aware and this awareness helps us leap beyond the mind and become one with truth.
