The verses of Sri Guru Granth Sahib encapsulate great philosophy, devotion, surrender and love for God. Chamkan Taare celebrates this very spirit and presents six exquisite shabads in the sublime voice of Anandmurti Gurumaa. They are filled with such profound wisdom that listening to them intently itself takes one deeper and deeper. It opens up with a surreal shabad weaving the imagery of early morning breeze caressing the face, the magic of being under the canopy of twinkling stars, as if the whole world is singing the glory of Lord. Sri Guru Granth Sahib's verses applaud the sacredness of early morning and the same gets expressed in this shabad wherein Guru is giving a call to one and all - those who wake up and participate in it are the luckiest of all. Carrying the fragrance of this shabad comes ‘Mann Mereya Antar Tere’ that lays open the esoteric path to move inwards such that nothing remains a secret anymore. What one needs is the dispassion for the transient world, and thus says ‘Ram Syon Kar Preet’ - be in the love with the Lord, rest is just ephemeral.
The title track ‘Chamkan Taare’ is yet another wonderful picturesque description of the twinkling stars in the pitch dark night drenched with dewdrops. It depicts how the sages remain ever wakeful in remembrance of the Lord without forgetting Him even for a second. It is only when the mind takes refuge of the Lord that the way is paved for the transition from this transient world. This call to one’s own mind gets beautifully expressed in ‘Mann Re Prabh Ki Saran’. And as it is only the benediction of the Lord that can pull the seeker out of the dark veils, the prayer unto the lotus feet of the Lord is ‘Vissar Nahi Daatar’. It’s a mesmerising expression of deep yearning for divine love. All these shabads have been sung so mellifluously by Anandmurti Gurumaa that each ones strikes the chord and makes one sway blissfully.
