Health – the Ayurvedic perspective
Ayurveda is one of the most ancient health sciences known to man. According to this holistic discipline, there are 3 humours in the body – vata, pitta and kapha, or wind, fire and phlegm. If these are in balance, a person is healthy and if there is an imbalance of these, disease results.
Knowing our body type is therefore one of the important keys to sound health. This means that not only do we need to modify our diet and if necessary, our lifestyle, we also need to complement this with a calm, stress-free mind. A healthy body and a peaceful mind are both prerequisites for perfect health.
