Secret to good happening in your life
Q: “We want to meditate and our mind wants to do something else; or more generally, we should control our mind.” Then which part of our mind complex is the first “we”? Is that not a part of the same complex? If it is really different like our will power, then what is this will power and where does it reside and how can we strengthen it?
A: See, for now you do not have any willpower & whatever will you have, is actually part of the mind, which is already very weak. Hence, whatever decision you make for yourself, you are unable to fructify your own desired path of goal. At the moment, when you say ‘we’, then this ‘we’ is inclusive of your mind, intellect & consciousness and as such if your mind is not being well trained and if you do not have a higher intellect; then it is pretty clear that you will not have higher power to make decisions and to follow them.
So what can you do to strengthen it? Understanding & wisdom. Wisdom makes you strong, wisdom makes you clear and with wisdom, the choices which you make, you will stick with those. See, your ego is pretty big and whenever this ego has finally made a decision, it sticks with that and if you do not have the right wisdom, then you do not have the right kind of intellect, then you will not have the right kind of ego with you. The ‘shudha ahankara’ - as we would say it in the Vedantic language. If you do not have the ‘shudha ahankara’, then you cannot have the ‘shudha sankalpa’ and when you have no ‘shudha sankalpa’, then no good things are going to happen in your life.
