How to overcome short temper?

Q : I am short tempered. I get upset when people don’t do their duties properly then I shout at them. How to overcome this Maa? Although when I scold them I get disturbed for few moments and later I feel that why to scold them or why to shout at them, as they have a little brain only.

A : Well Sanjay you have quite a big ego. Who are you to decide, who has what size of brain? Who are you to judge someone just because a person couldn’t accomplish a given task in particular time period?

Couldn’t you have been more patient? Couldn’t you have conversation with the person and check out that why the work couldn’t be finished in time. Yelling doesn’t solve any situation and thinking that other people have small brains will definitely never put you in a better position.

No one has the right to look down upon someone or show someone down. You must not do that. Kindly change your approach. You have written that you are in a joint family, and you have a successful business, you are in charge in the office and there are people around you. So don’t throw your bossy weight around. Be a little considerate and just talk to people, try to understand their situations.

Talking to the other person is the perfect way to know the reason for not finishing the job in time. There could be hundreds of reasons, you can’t just blame someone with carelessness or judge them that they have a small brain or less of capability to work. There can be many-many other reasons. We should be open to talk. Before yelling at someone, always ask, what went wrong?
