Glimpses of Rishikesh Bhandara

Vanprastha Ashram, in Rishikesh, a holy town in northern India, where the winter meditation camp is conducted by Gurumaa became the venue for a monumentous occasion. A grand Bhandara was organized by Gurumaa on 25th of December 2009 to honour and felicitate Sadhus, celebrating their divinity and commemorating the age old tradition of the sadhu way of living.

The high mountains covered in fresh green foliage provided an ideal backdrop to a serene setting, and the placid Ganges provided background music as it quietly flowed by its pebbled banks close by. Even the weather took part by casting a misty cloak covering the surroundings, sanctifying the atmosphere charged by the presence of a multitude of holy men.
