Can I change sankalpa in Yoga nidra?
Q: I have a question about the Sanklapa that is to be done in the Yoga Nidra. Do I need to repeat the same Sankalpa every time while doing Yoga Nidra or different Sankalpas can be made in each Yoga Nidra session? If I repeat the same Sankalpa, do I disturb the maturation of the Sankalpa?
A: Adarsh, when I say, make a resolve in Yoga Nidra, then it is not like, you can make a Sankalpa that I want a new car, I want a new house, I want a job, I want that girlfriend. It is not like that when I ask you to make a resolution. It should be a composite resolution in connection with your life and its evolution.
So the resolution can be like this, I wish to be healthier, when you say healthier, all the diseases in your physical body are covered in this resolution. May I be at peace with myself, may I be peaceful and may I get enlightened in this life. Resolution should be like this, something in concern with your evolution and not like my girlfriend should call me by this evening, because Gurumaa says whatever Sankalpa you do in Yoga Nidra will become a reality.
But it has nothing to do with these small itsy-bitsy desires of your life. I am not talking about the desire fulfillment. Many people who are greedy and lustful, they think that Yoga Nidra is the best bet for them as Yoga Nidra will put your resolve into nature’s lap and the whole nature will work to fulfill their desire.
Yoga Nidra’s objective is not to help you to have our desires fulfilled but Yoga Nidra Sankalpas are basically meant to help you to understand yourself more, to understand your mind more and give yourself a chance to progress in the spiritual path.
