Experiencing some waves in body during meditation

Q : I am doing meditation from last one year regularly before sleep at night. Recently I started feeling sort of electric current passing through my body, especially in my spine. During the sessions, I feel intense rays of heat which moves in circle on my forehead. For the last few days the intensity of such currents and sensation has increased tremendously, through out the day. Though I am enjoying it but still there is fear also. Please guide me what exactly happening?

A : My dear, there is nothing to be scared of; there is nothing to worry about. Just keep on following what ever you are doing.

You need to clear up your psychic channels and for that you should practice more of Nadi Shodhana, i.e. alternate breathing. Sit straight, spine erect, eyes closed, use your hand mudra, close your right nostril with right thumb, and inhale slowly and gently through your left. Take deep long smooth breath. Hold it in for few seconds and then close the left nostril and breathe out through right slow, gentle and deep. Now, again inhale through your right nostril, slow, gentle, deep. Once you have inhaled, then hold the breath just for few seconds and then slowly exhale through your left. This would be one cycle. At least do 20 cycles every morning.

If you have cardio muscular disease, if you have high blood pressure, please do not, mark my words, do not hold your breath and then just inhale and exhale, exhale and inhale taking in through left, exhaling through right, inhaling through right exhaling through left.

Nadi Shodhana will help your body to prepare, unclog your psychic channels. Then all these experiences of the heat, the sensation in the forehead, would be more enjoyable and there is nothing to be alarmed of.
