Our real relationship is with God alone
Q: In meditation, I felt as though something was separating from my body. What was this? Also, how can I perform my duties but still remain detached?
A: When you approach a sacred place with love and devotion, its positive vibrations and grace shower upon you, depending on how receptive you are.
Look at life like one big drama, in which we ourselves are playing a role. Our family, friends, neighbors and relatives are the other characters and the scenes keep on changing, like a movie. However, if we always remember that our real relationship is with God alone, then regardless of external circumstances, we stay in balance.
Once we learn to see everything as a blessing, then we truly appreciate and enjoy every little thing life offers. We realise that the nature of things is to change so we do not get attached to anything - not this body, not the breath, not parents, not friends, nor this very life too. Nothing is ours; everything belongs to God; we just need to play our part well and enjoy the free show!
