Q : What is the difference between love and attachment?

A : Attachment is bondage; love is freedom. Attachment is always with someone or something which is other than you and love is always within your real self and with you. Attachment is always demeaning and brings you down to your knee and gives you a lot of pain and turmoil whereas love gives you blissful feeling. Love gives you wings to fly. Although it is very difficult to understand the difference between love and attachment because most of the times you think that attachment is love and that’s how all the society around you believe in.

And love cannot be experienced until and unless you have gone within you, until and unless you have not established yourself, until and unless you have not known yourself, until and unless you have not associated your heart with God. Attachment is always with someone else and love is not an act which you will do but love is something which you will experience. Love is something which will ooze out of your own being and attachment is going to keep you tied down. Love is something which really frees you.
