You have no right to throw away your life which is a gift from God
Q: My brother committed suicide. Especially our mother finds it very hard to come to terms with it. Is it right for anyone to take one’s own life?? Whoever commits suicide, are they finally free or is the soul suffering and wandering about? Is such a death predetermined as fated? We all feel bad and guilty. Is anyone responsible for this?
A: Rani, the question of committing suicide is something which I have one general answer for. No one has this right and no one has this power to take their life away. Life is a gift of God. We have no right to throw it away and definitely there are serious consequences for those who do that.
I can understand that your mother finds it difficult to accept what has happened. But well, she has to accept it. Regarding on whom the responsibility falls, I am not aware about what the situation was, but sometimes it is not the situations, but it is the mind of the person which is unable to cope with the difficult situation or a relationship, or a defeat or a failure; that is why they throw away their life like this.
But it is unfortunate. For now, I would suggest that please try to be more focused on strengthening your own mind. He is gone, this does not mean now you will sulk the whole of your life & cry at his stupid mistake, which is irreversible. You should take charge of your life and take a lesson from your brother’s stupidity, that life should be given dignity and life should be lived with respect. Even in case of difficult situations occurring in your life, you should never lose heart. One should never give away; one should be always wise enough, intelligent enough to cope with the situations and learn to make one’s life beautiful.
