Let your whole life be happy!
Gurumaa points out that nowhere in the scriptures is it said that the New Year should be celebrated! It is childish to simply say, “Happy New Year!” on just one day of the year. We should live in such a way that throughout our life happiness will be there, not only for a day, a week or a year. Why limit it?
However, scriptures do mention that on Makar Sankranti and Poornima (full moon day), one should definitely go to have Darshan of one’s Guru. Our fervent prayer should be that just as externally, Nature is undergoing a transformation during Sankranti, may my mind too undergo a complete revolution in conjunction with you, Oh my Guru. On Poornima, one keeps the auspicious prayer to the Guru in one’s heart that may all my weaknesses and inadequacies be overcome and my mind experience fullness and completion.
Gurumaa repeatedly reminds us that there is only one purpose in life and that is to know who we are in essence. Have a determined resolve to achieve this loftiest aim of all. Every moment is an opportunity to come closer to the Lord, to know our true self. Time is precious and life is short so work ceaselessly to attain this goal. At the end of the satsang, showering grace on all, Gurumaa blessed everyone, that may all beings be auspiciously happy always.
