Deeksha or initiation can be of different types. It may be in the form of mantra initiation, chakra initiation, gyana initiation or energy initiation. Mantra initiation is the most basic of all and

in this deeksha, allegiance is not necessary. However, shuddha deeksha or pure initiation requires complete surrender by the seeker and it is this initiation that binds the seeker with the

master. Besides, in order to drink the nectar of divinity, it is very important that the heart of seeker is filled with love. In the absence of love, surrender, the seeker cannot absorb the

divinity flowing from the Master. In the dearth of such traits, receipt of gyana would be as good as receipt of information which would anyways be lost in a day or two. Thus, no initiation

or relationship is required to be a student. But to be one with the guru, initiation is required.
