The hidden animal in man
On the surface, human beings appear very civilised, particularly in major cities of the world. However, simmering under the polished exterior are seething emotions – turbulent passions, rage, jealousies and attachments. Indeed, these are well hidden from others; we present a façade to the world, concealing our true colours, even from ourselves. We too do not like to confess that we harbour such negativities and so much hatred.
Here, Gurumaa points out to us this hideous aspect of the human being. When conditions are favourable and the going is smooth, most people are happy and enjoy the ride! But as soon as they enter rough waters, the blame game starts; defences are up, tempers are short and physical violence and abuse result. Let’s take a good look at ourselves – is this our modus operandi too?
