Everybody feels that to be in state of happiness, one needs to fulfil his most cherished desires. So firstly, it is essential to understand the desires that pop in and out, in our minds. The desires are intensely related with the satisfaction of five senses; we wish to see beautiful sceneries from eyes, hear praises from ears, eat delicious food to pamper taste buds, smell fragrance from nose and feel comfy & affectionate touch from skin. Even our connectivity with the whole world is solely to appease these five sense organs only. But the ultimate aim behind all these is to attain happiness.
This longing for happiness eventually leads to partaking in the worldly mad race i.e. to make more and more money. People struggle a lot for earning money- arduous studies since childhood, giving mind-boggling exams, striving to get a highly paid job and so on. All these painstaking efforts are made for acquiring luxuries and sensual pleasures, but ironically, the hope to be happy remains illusory.
Even while marrying people knit many beautiful dreams hoping to be happy. But the matter to think over is that whatever pleasure you have attained, was it the ultimate one or you expected to gain more? Was that happiness eternal or the temporal one? Was it just conditional and vanished in the air with the end of that? Was that glimpse of happiness, a momentary excitement, an adrenaline rush which triggered with the chemical release?
