Festival of Death
Death is a festival in Tibet, unlike a tragic event in other cultures. It's amazing how they celebrate it as an occasion to pray, to chant, to dance, to have a feast with loved ones pouring in - all in the spirit of spiritual ascension of the departed one. Buddhist monks are specially called in for this ceremony who then sit around the dead body and chant the mantras to facilitate the journey forward. This home becomes a festive home and the event another festive occasion just like birth.
