Departed souls: Revelations and myths demystified

Q: Gurumaa, if the departed soul has not taken rebirth, can we see or feel their presence?

A: I don’t know. I haven’t met anyone who has not yet taken birth & I haven’t seen anyone like that too. As per the scriptures, the answer is ‘yes and no’. Most of the times, what the people see is not the soul of that departed person but their hallucination. And our hallucinations are really very strong; it can be very-very strong because the mind which can create a similar world in the dream can definitely create the image for you. And fear is deeply embedded in the human mind so seeing one’s own imagination; one gets so scared & fearful, that the person is ready to believe that – “I have seen a ghost”. Well, it all depends on - in what state of mind you are.
