Absolute honesty with the Guru
Showering the enlightening words of wisdom on the cold, misty morning of New Year, Gurumaa pointed out as to how frank and authentic the Mahatma was – he openly shared this in front of Gurumaa and his disciples too. He also said that since that day, even if jalebi was put in front of him, there was no thought or wish to eat it.
With this, Gurumaa sharply pointed out to the sadhaks present that half of their energy is going waste in hiding their weaknesses from their Master/Guru. It is therefore of utmost importance to acknowledge one’s faults and mistakes, rather than hiding them. Eventually, it is necessary to be in charge of one’s own thinking.
Further differentiating between a sadhak and a sadhu, Gurumaa explained that a sadhak is one who is still learning how to use his mind skilfully, with dispassion, discrimination and wisdom. A sadhu, however, is one who has already mastered this art.
