When I pray alone, I end up crying…

Q : Dear Maa.

Great salutations to you! Maa on Ganesh chaturthi and many other occasions when I pray alone, I end up crying. I get too sentimental & tears roll down & I get almost sad. But I think that every time one prays one should be happy. I also become very quiet for some time, my voice becomes soft, I don’t know why, I was under the impression that when one pray one should feel happy n ecstatic. Please help. Am confused.

Rekha, In moments of Prayer, pent up emotions get released and one begins to cry. This is cleansing happening, so nothing to worry. Happiness and sadness are two faces of one coin so true sadhana means to Surpass both things. Learn to disassociate yourself from it.
