Restoring faith in God

Q : How can one restore faith in God again. I have tried it but I could not. I go to temple just once a year.

It’s interesting, even though you don’t have any faith in God and you can’t even go to temple, you have approached me and God is very much living in me.

Regarding the question of restoring the faith, please don’t think that you can’t construct faith in your heart. Either you have it or you don’t have it. And I would say why you would like to have faith in God. This time do something better, explore whether God exist or not. Do a frenetic search, a very dedicated search. When all the scriptures, Mahatmas and Gurus are saying that God exist and God loves us; check their statement. Move in your mind; move very deep in your mind. And look for the truth whether that exists or not. May be people like me are saying untrue.

Definitely God doesn’t just live in temple. Shivani, he lives in you and if you can’t find it within you, you can’t find him in temples either.

Temples were meant as a meeting point of the enlightened people. Those walking mystics would take shelter for few days in temples. People used to get a chance to have a darshan and to have Satsangs of such Sadhus and Mahatmas.

Temples later on changed into places of worship and idols where idols were placed and people would go to do all the ritualistic puja-paath and offerings. But actually the temples were meant for get together of all lovers of God. They would sing, chant, dance and would grow with associations of these wonderful people.

I think there is something wrong if you can’t even go to the temple. But if you think that your situation is like, you asked something from God and it didn’t come to you because of which you are angry and you disbelief in God. If it is the case then I would say that so called faith which you had is also not a faith. That was just a child tantrum like give me this, if you don’t give me I won’t talk to you.
It is just a child tantrum. It has nothing to do with faith. Real faith never gets destroyed. Because we are slave of our desires and we are not ready to let go any single desire, we want every thing to happen now. If we don’t get the thing that we desire then we run to God; God help me, if God doesn’t help us we get upset with him, which is just a child tantrum.
