How to overcome one’s anger?
Q : Maa! I have a question to ask. Even though I know that anger is the worst enemy of human beings, I know it can harm us. But even then, at times when things are abnormal, I am not able to control this anger. I tend to shout and throw things due to the depression inside me. Maa! Please tell me a way how can I overcome this vikara?

Harmeet, you are angry only then when someone hurts you, you are angry when you do not get what you were wanting. Anger comes only when you have a very inflated ego & someone has ruptured it. So you will have to come out of these weaknesses.
One, learn to be happy in every situation. How would you do that? Do your mantra japa everyday, do your mool mantra everyday and make yourself wiser, listen to my commentary on ‘Jaap Sahib’ & ‘Japji Sahib’, listen to my commentary of ‘Rehras Sahib’. It will help you understand that life is full of bountiful blessings.
And we need to broaden our mind and we need to learn the ways to be strong. We have to learn not to be dependent on things, objects and people for their appreciation and attention. And that is how you will become self-dependent and then you will be happy within yourself and when you are happy, then there is no reason to be angry, so be a happy person.
