thoughtlessness and meditative mood
pranam gurumaa sometimes while travelling and working there are no thoughts and there is complete silence and peace within. And its a great feeling and it continues for hours. The body is so light and whatever i am doing is being done effortlessly. I don't feel hot or cold at that time. Is this meditation with open eyes as you say we can be in a meditative mood while working etc.during this and after i do not want to talk but like to feel the peacefulness within? then i close my eyes also.

Q:
What is the difference between Prana and Atma
I want to understand the relation between our 'Atma - True Self' and 'Prana'. Our 'True Self' is a witnessing creative entity which is the source of every creations - humans, animals, birds, trees, this earth, sun, moon, stars, in fact everything, both animate and inanimate things. However, 'Prana' is responsible for whether one is alive or dead. If 'Prana' departs from a living body, it turns into a dead thing. Then I wonder whether Prana is the source of our life, and not the Atma. I would be extremely grateful to know how 'Prana' is different from Atma. what is their inter-relationship. What is the difference between Prana and Atma. On whom, Prana is dependent to. I pray that Gurumaa would touch this subject in detail.

Q:
What is Prarabdha?
Gurumaa, What is prarabdhha exactly? It is said we live many lives and karma in previous lives affect our present and future lives. Why don't we get the results of our karma in present life itself ? There might be people who have not done anything wrong in present life but they are facing hard time due to some karma in previous life. Why all have to face prarabdha? We don't even know what we had done in previous life due to which we are facing consequences in present life. Please explain.
Q:
Difference between Human longing and Divine longing
Pranaam Gurumaa,
We human beings are always warned against human attachment and longing. But in life we meet people and helplessly get attached to.
Radha and gopis, Nandbaba and yashodha longed for Krishna and underwent pain. My question is what is the difference in the quality for Radha and Gopi's attachment to Krishna and we human beings attachnment to our loved ones.
I see that both ways the pain for longing is there that strangles our breath and freedom in life. Then where exactly do we human beings go wrong? Please clarify and bless me how to come out of attachment to my good friend who has been with me since 7 long years and now going to another city for Job.
Can't I advance spiritually by being with my friend for lifetime? Is it always inevitable to get separated from people we love in order to advance spiritually?

Q:
Visions while doing tratak
Dear Gurumaa, I recently started doing tratak meditation. Even though I can get through the whole process, my mind wanders a lot and I feel uncomfortable the whole time. However, the last few times, when the last track of the cd starts, I start to imagine things.
The visions end when the music stops. I realized that some of the images were from yog nidra. Anyways, i felt really good when I was imagining all those images but I didn't think I was supposed to be imagining things. I thought that I was suppose to be focusing on the candle, my breathing, and my posture. I'm confused now. Can you give me some insight as to why I'm imagining things and what I'm actually suppose to be doing in Tratak?
Q:
overthinking or useless thinking
how can i stop useless or overthinking? especially when i look at other people. I have something to say about every person i come in contact with. Also, when i have nothing to do and I am idle, I start thinking about people who I have been watching on television or people who i do not know but said something useless that made me think. Why can't my mind be silent at all times? why do i think about what the other person said? why do i repeat what other people say? how do i stop this? it is almost as though i give these people so much importance and i do not even know them other than what they said.

Q:
Tratak Meditation on Living vs Non-living Object
Guruma Ji Namaste!
I have recently started to do Trataka dharana on the symbol Om and have achieved some success. I've placed the symbol on my ceiling and assume the savasana posture for the practice. A very reliable source who is also a good friend suggested that I try doing the practice on a living object such as a plant. I did the dharana on the plant in a seated posture but didn't have the same success as I did with the Om symbol.
I found that my dharana experience with the Om symbol to be more intense, however, at the same time it seemed mechanical/artificial when compared to the plant.
My friend confirmed this and explained to me that doing meditation on a yantra or Om symbol is more abstract, hence, the experience had a feeling of being more artificial. I tend to agree with this because my personal experience.
I was wondering if you can please give your opinions on this subject.
Hari Om!

Q:
What does exactly libration (Mukti / Moksha) mean?
Respected G, I've been reading diverse books, articles, and speeches from Sages and yogis. Everyone has different views and methodology to get liberation (Moksha / Mukti).
I have got certain concrete conclusions till now but they still have their base on relativity of method (path) applied to get libration. So my questions are :: * What does Mukti / Moksh mean to you? * How do you put your thoughts on libration based on your experiences? (If you can add your personal experience as well, it would be highly valuable to me.) Regards, N

Q:
Free will and Destiny & mode of death
Dear Gurumaa,
Lots of Pranams
It is said that Mode and Time of death is fixed...Then it can be straightly concluded that the preceding events leading to that sort of death are also fixed, otherwise the event of death as it is destined to be, cannot fall in place.
In the same manner, if we move back in the backward direction in the course of events in one's life, then all those events could also be said to be fixed...
I have heard enough about Free will and Destiny.. some saints say Life is a combination of free will and destiny...and in other place, if we see "Free will" is really no free will at all as it appears to be...
If a person A is killed by another person B, then the mode of death of A was fixed as mode and time of one's death is fixed....so how is B accountable for bad karma...?
Has not nature or God forced B through some compelling thought to kill A (which was inevitable and had anyway had to happen in that way )...
