I feel that I am not spiritually progressing. Please guide?
Q : Gurumaa Pranaam, I do meditation twice daily for 30 minutes on Gayatri mantra for over 25 years. But I feel that I am not spiritually progressing as I am struggling to develop a one-point concentration for developing my 'third eye'. I tried using the breathing techniques, mantra recitation, concentration and focusing attention on the Chakras as explained by several spiritual masters like Swami Dayanand, Swami Shivananda, Baba Ramdev, Swami Kriyananda, and Swami Chinmayananda but to no avail. I am dying to attain self-realisation and get connected to my Higher Self. I feel the need for a guru's grace (guru kripa) to induct me into initiation by showing me a Disha or giving me a Diksha. I plead for help as a committed and sincere seeker of light and truth. Kripaya mujhe woh jheel, jharna ya chashma dikhaye jisse meri adhyatmik pyaas bujh sakey. I feel I am fated by my karmas which are hindering me. I seek your grace.

Answer Shiv, have you heard about this popular saying, “many cooks spoil the broth”. That’s what happening in your case. You need a Guru. Then you should follow what ever the Guru says to you. Don’t try to confuse different paths & different theories and get boggled down. If you are a real seeker, then first & the foremost thing which you will do is - look in your heart; ask your heart - to whom does your heart surrenders to; whom does your heart feels a great attraction & make a right choice.
Seek a guru, sit with a Guru and then work upon yourself and then may be whatever you have written in your question - it may become reality one day. Don’t say that you are ill fated by your karma, just have a fire in your heart & be very adamant in your prayer & be very-very sincere in your prayer. And if you are a real seeker then soon you would be able to clear up this foggy state of mind.
