How to empower myself?

Q : How to get out of the influence if someone behaves badly with me. I don't like somebody’s' nature, I get so much bugged down that entire life force gets depleted and I get totally exhausted. I am 23 year old girl and have this ‘adjustment’ problem ever since I was child. Kindly tell me Gurumaa what meditation and how much Yoga I should do to empower myself.

Poor baby, you are suffering so much, you are so miserable that you have suffered a lot in your whole life and no one could even guide you to live happily. You asked me how I can adjust with the people around me. Well in the beginning I would like to say that there is no need to do these kinds of adjustments with other people.

First you need to adjust with yourself. You don’t know how to live with yourself, you don’t know how to manage your mind, you don’t know how to be happy with yourself, you don’t know how to be contented with yourself and that’s the reason you are dependent on people. And as all individuals have similar nature, the tendency is to manipulate people; the tendency is to let others down and put ourselves on higher pedestal.

It is so deep rooted in our mind that husbands try to manipulate wives and wives try to manipulate husbands. Same goes with the parents and children, same goes with student and teacher, same goes among friends, same goes among girl friend and boy friend. Same goes in all relationships.

So you have to understand this that until and unless you are not integrated, you are not strong and don’t know how to live with yourself, you cannot be happy. When we are dependent on others, we are already empowering them that please come and behave with us as you wish.

The day you stand firmly on your feet, the day you have strong mind, the day you are filled with divine light, you would become such a happy soul that no one would ever dare to come close with an intention to hurt you. On the contrary when you will be filled up with this happiness and peace; you will attract good people. If some pessimistic people come close to you they would just run away.

So be strong. How would you do that? Through prayer, through listening to Satsang, through meditation, through practicing Yoga Asana & Pranayam and become physically & mentally strong. I would suggest you to come in some of my retreat in Ashram, and I would love to share all these teachings with you.
