How to control an over-thinking/analytical mind?
Q : Dear Gurudev, I am 21 years old and I have started doing Ram ras kirtan dhyana. But my problem is that just after 2 - 3 days, I have parroted all the words in the dhyana. When I sit to do it, everything that is going to come, flashes in my mind. I feel now Gurumaa will sweetly chant the mantra, now kirtan will start and so on. I know in this way I am not doing dhyana. Please guide me as to what should I do?
Answer Well Sanyam, you are a pretty intelligent boy. You now know it that you are not doing it right and that’s not how you are supposedly to do it. What you should do is for some time don’t do Ram Ras and just may be follow the Trataka dhyana or do the Urja and your concentration and your priority should be in doing the method and not in analyzing what I am going to speak.
Your over thinking mind is a problem. So allow yourself a state of mind where you are not going to do the post mortem of what has been spoken by me. Where you allow, where you surrender to the advise or the instructions which are being given. You need to just follow that. So don’t over analyse.
