Who is greater: God or Guru?

I do not know. You better look within. But there is a beautiful saying of Sahjobai, which says that God gave us birth with all these vices and negativities and the Guru is the one who brought us out of it. God is the one who hid himself from our mind and Guru is the one who helped us to explore who God is. God is the one who gave us these desires towards maya, the illusion and the Guru is the one who helped us to understand what this maya is & made us firm & helped us realise the self.

So Sahjobai says that the Guru is greater than God. Not because there is some competition happening between the Guru & the God. Idealistically, the Guru is the one who is helping us to connect with God and God is the one who in a way is giving an expression, a personification through the Guru. So as such, they are not two entities.

But one should know who is the Guru; the real Guru, not the fake one. And these fake ones are really making a mess with the people’s mind.
