Can creativity burn out the negativities?

Q : Can the spark of creativity burn out the negativities like jealousy and anger of a person and can it transform the complete life of a person?

No, it can not. Creativity is just one part. As I have already said, you can be a great painter, you can be a great dancer and yet be filled with all negativities. The biggest negativity which most of these artists, who are not real artists, will have is, they are always dying for fame. If you are poet you are always looking for “wah, wah, wah”, applauds. I have not seen yet a poet who will not begin his narration without saying this-“Please give me your attention and you will really like it and you will really appreciate it and please lend me your ears and please listen to it; this like particularly what a line, I have written”. Now that is the introduction which he or she will begin. I am not saying all poets are like this but majority. A majority is like that.

Even if they don’t say, they’re always looking for how much money they will make. Sometimes they’re not bothered about money, but then they have another added value and that is ‘huge egos’. The biggest pitfall for artists is their ego. It’s only their master who can really kick them and straighten them up. But if their master is real and humble and true master in every way, will make sure that his disciple or her disciple does not end up being a perfect artist but a perfect human being. I like to add upon this that only a real human being, who has humbleness, love, nobility, purity can be really called an ‘artist’. Those who don’t have these attributes, those who don’t have this compassion in them, those who don’t give credit to their all achievements to the divinity can not be called a real artist. But if a real artist has all of these humane qualities love, compassion, egolessness, no competitiveness, not being over-ambitious, not dying to get recognition or name or fame or money or credits. Now sometimes they say don’t give me name, don’t give me fame, but at least put my name in your journals, you know for the latter on generations, they’ll know that there was a person who was this much great. You know sometimes people are more bothered about, whether history would remember them or not! They can live on empty stomach and they can live like a beggar but they are more concerned whether history would remember them, whether there name would be written in golden letters, whether future generation would recall, oh there was this man or woman’.

A real artist has to be a real human being and you cannot be a real human being if you don’t have a passion, love, prayer in you; prayerfulness completes you as a human being. And once you are complete human being then you can be a perfect artist, and then you can be called an artist in every way and in every sphere. The simplest thing, a person can do is greet someone. Just by seeing how you greet someone, we can say that whether you are an artist, intelligent, real human being or you are just a farce. It’s not what you will say, it’s how will you conduct yourself, your body language. It’s not what you’ll speak, but what your eyes will convey. It’s not what you will do, but it is how you will receive your guest. The smallest thing can be made into a great, wonderful, creative and artistic thing. When you receive someone with love, warmth, affection, you are creating such a beauty in that moment, that you are not only enriching yourself, but you are also enriching the person to whom this is being offered, and especially if it is being done without any ulterior motive.

Have you ever done this that you meet any unknown person, but you gave that person such a beaming & warm smile that the person had to respond to you. Do this, some day, you see a child, who is sulking or quite or irritating, and just with your vibes, just with your love which you’ll be sending to this child through your body, through your eyes, through you mind, through your heart, that the child begins to give you all the attention and then smile will come so spontaneously on this child’s lips, even if that child is the crankiest child, knottiest child, there are ways to create these bridges.

So negativity can be in you, even if you are a creative person. These are very dramatically opposite things. And this is possible that you a great person, you are a great meditator but your creativity is not very artistic. You can be very crude and crude in your ways, but yet you have that inner intelligence and you might not have those modes to express it but still you have it. See, sometimes these things are very subtle and sometimes these things are much more physical. So if they are physical, these can be seen by one and all, but if it is subtle then you too need a very subtle eye to see that.

And there is no person who can be filled with negativity but is a meditator. If you are a meditator, a real meditator, negativities just vanish; they just melt away from you. And when these melt, true creativity happens to you. Gurumaa
