Is it necessary for a couple to have the same Guru?

Q : Is it necessary for a husband and wife to take diksha from the same Guru?

I do not know, it may be or it may not be. It is not like eating the same food or watching the same movie; that the husband & the wife have to pick one and then they do the same thing together. The Guru can be different and I believe in individuality, in freedom of the person. Maybe either the husband or the wife is a non-believer, so should they stop their spiritual growth just because the spouse is not interested. It cannot be like that.
