You have learnt poems. You have learnt stories. Now is the time to learn Hanuman Chalisa and Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. And if you learn it by heart and recite it well, you will get a special gift from the endearing master, Anandmurti Gurumaa.
Gurumaa will have a special session for children under the age of ten years on the evening of 4th November 2010, a day before Diwali. This session will only be for those children who know the Hanuman Chalisa and the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra by heart.
Your parents and grandparents will be knowing both these shlokas, so they can teach you. And for those whose family members do not know, they will have an opportunity to learn because of you! Have a competition with them to see who memorises first; you will surely win!
Hanuman Chalisa contains 40 shlokas. Even if you learn one shloka a day, and keep revising the ones you know, by Diwali you will have learnt all the shlokas by heart.
You must be having Gurumaa’s CD of the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. If not, then you can get it from Gurumaa Ashram or any of the Gurumaa centers. Spend ten minutes every day; listen to it and learn the right pronunciations. This is the mantra –
Om trayambakam yajamahe
Sugandhim pushti vardhanam
Urvarukmeva bandhanan
Mrityormukshiya mamritat
Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra
If you keep this mantra in front of you while listening to the CD, within four to five days you will learn it. All those children who will recite both the Hanuman Chalisa and the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra very well will receive a special gift from Gurumaa on Diwali.
So, best of luck!
