Description
One loud and strong call from our mother is good enough to wake us up in the morning from our long night's sleep, isn't it? The album Shivoham is a mother's wake up call.. Our mother's do not call out our names for entertainment, they call us to bring us out of our laziness. Similarly is the album Shivoham. Its not just music for entertainment, its a mother's wake up call... Are you ready to awaken, yet?
If yes, listening to the songs of this album in a true contemplative spirit will do the trick!
This call comes from great masters like "Kabir and Adi Shankaracharya", sung to us beautifully by Gurumaji. Every song reflects the same idea; that you are not the body which dies, awaken to the truth, know your true self and be free!
'Duniya do din ka hai mela' is a mesmerizing song of Kabir which reminds us that this world is nothing but a 'fun fair'. Everybody reaps as he sows here be he Guru or disciple. Nobody and nothing belongs to us here, for one day we wrap up our game and leave with death. The one who realizes this is a special and lucky one!
'Humka Udhave Chadariya' speaks of life, which ends with a procession on four shoulders and covered with the white cloth (death!). But the master benevolently gives us bitter truth in a sugar coated pill!
"Mano Buddhya Ahankara Chittani Naham... Chidananda Roopa Shivoham Shivoham"
Most of us have heard this verse from Adi Shankaracharya's great composition 'Atmashatak'. But rarely do we understand its true essence. All songs in this album create the background for us to drown into the essence of these shlokas. Every shloka tells us what we are not, and also tells us what we are... We are not the bodies we wear, we are not the sense organs, ego, anger, love, hatred. Our true self has no relatives, friends, not even parents. In reality we never die for we were never born! Our true self is - Truth, Infinte, all pervading consciousness.
Gurumaaji sings these shlokas in Sanskrit for a seeker to contemplate and meditate upon and also in Hindi in 'Mera Sat Chit Anand Roop, Koi Koi Jaane'
A disciple who has understood the worth of his Master sways to this song in utter gratitude joy and thankfulness. 'Tere Jaisa Kaun Hai' is song of praise for the Sadguru who is none other than 'Sat Chit Anand' in a human form. Who can parallel such a benevolent being who has not only experienced ultimate bliss and joy, but also wakes up all sleeping souls to the same truth?
Are we prepared to awaken yet?
